A Rising Tide Lifts all Boats!
The aphorism "a rising tide lifts all boats" is associated with the idea that improvements in the general economy will benefit all participants in that economy, and that economic policy, particularly government economic policy, should therefore focus on the general macroeconomic environment first and foremost. The phrase is attributed to John F Kennedy, who used it in a 1963 speech to combat criticisms that a dam project he was inaugurating was a “pork barrel” project. Pork or no pork, we accept the complement gracefully from our friends at #bizitalk.
Talking of friends, welcome to our new Associates who include business advice service Focussed Fox, copywriter Dina Behrman, technology consultants Chrobis, digital marketing agency Peeled Design, women’s business network York WiRE, designer Cathie Designs, marketing consultant Alison Page Marketing (also one of our very first customers) and Enterprise Rockers whose mission is to make life in Micro Enterprise easier and fairer. Tina Boden and Tony Robinson came up with the idea of forming a band of Micro Enterprise owners, those that employ between 0 and 9, and worked closely with others they knew to create the Enterprise Rockers group. Over the past 6 months through social media networks and face to face discussions the interest in this growing band has increased with many people wanting to know more.
